Car park lift lobby is limited to only 1 functioning lobby due to COVID19 to ensure that your unwell loved ones are taken care properly kindly drop them off at the drop off area to limit the crowd at the lift area, I wished the hospital posted a PSA before everyone - old & young crowds at the one and only functioning CARPARK lift lobby with no social distancing measures in place.
Staffs are very kind and responsible, great quality service! I’ve been getting a five star service in five years now! Keep up!
Admission takes 3 hours and discharge takes almost 6 hours. The nurses don't even bother understanding the questions raised but just hand out what they think we asked for.The only star was for the doctor we got the treatment from. Other than that, nothing impressed me. Have undergone surgery with other hospital which wasn't as posh as Pantai but both their admission and discharge took us lesser than 2 hour. So, between the insurance and hospital argument whereby I have sent the docs to them and they haven't reverted, I leave it up to you as a future patient to decide.Update: Sept2020Had to be readmitted due to an infection at the surgery area. Admission via ER didn't take as long as 3 hrs. Nurse care was better this time. Not sure if its was because we were recurring patients or the review on the discharge form.Since we had the excruciating 6 hrs discharge the previous time, we opted to pay a deposit and hospital will take care of the final GL and update us when its clear. The final clearance from hospital came 5-6 days after discharge. We called the first 2 days to check with both insurance and hospital on the status, till we gt tired. Just imagining if we stayed.
Extremely terrible experience - My mother was diagnosed with a T-6 spinal cord meningioma and undergone surgery 8 months ago, under the recommendation of a neurologist at Pantai. She has not recovered to date, and is suffering 24-7, daily from unexplainable sensations - burning, severe pulling, floating /balloon-like sensation, tingling, weakness in both legs, inability to sleep (and the consequent deterioration of appetite). These affected her tremendously - physically and emotionally (she was not able to walk at all on bad days). She has repeatedly said that she sees no hope in recovering. And quite frankly, she has mentioned to me repeatedly on numerous accounts that she wished she could just pass on, simply because nothing can stop those torturous sensations (not physio, not stretching, not medicine, not sleep, nothing!). We were never informed, or at the very least, warned once, of the possible side effects / symptoms following the surgery despite our follow ups post-op. In fact, we were told before op, and I quote, verbatim "how you go in (to the OT), is how you will go out (the hospital)" - she was able to, despite slowly, do house chores, walk and cook for the family before the surgery. We followed up with the neurologist today. NOT to blame/argue or start pointing fingers (if we EVER intended to do so, we would have done so 8 months ago). We wanted to know one thing – is this normal? Or simply, is what my mom facing unheard of? We were not asking for treatment, or onerously, the possibility of her recovering. We wanted to hear, from a doctor's perspective. A PROFESSIONAL's perspective. We took an extremely long time convincing my mother to get out of the house and see a doctor. You would imagine the loss of confidence she had in doctors (and she is not even hoping that this neurologist could help her / tell us the possibility of her recovering). We were bombarded, or simply trashed on by the same neurologist who recommended us for surgery - 1. He was not listening! He was calling other doctors, fixing his computer, calling his nurse, shaking his head, dismissing us, pulling up pens and papers, pacing when my mom is frustrated and tearing up. 2. Arrogance and poor attitude. He told us in our faces "you come in here and expect answers / me to help you with this attitude”, “I need to cool off. This is not right. I don't want to discuss with you today, you can look for another neurologist”.THE AUDACITY?! And we were NOT attacking him. We were putting a question to him - "from your experience, have you seen a patient with tumour like this, face sensations like these?". A fair question, no?3. He has extreme lack of empathy as a doctor (or even as a human being, really). My mother went through a lot, she was a lot more worse when she first came back from op. She persevered through extremely bad phases. WE, persevered with her through extremely bad phases. The doctor does not seem to get, that we went to him today, because we are out of ideas of what to say to motivate her, and simply to comfort her - this will get better, one day, because we figured (from google, again not warned of), that spinal nerve recovery takes a long time. None of my mom's questions were answered and her spirit just hit new-low today. She left the consultation room, quite literally in despair - shaking uncontrollably and just tearing up. It was for us, another extremely traumatising, painful and disappointing experience. The only good thing - we were not charged a cent for today's episode. But it took us the rest of the day since we left the hospital, to lift my mom’s spirit, and really, to get her to just sit up and stop crying. It is never about the money, and your doctors need to do better than this, Pantai. Disclaimer: If you are reading the reviews for yourself, or for a loved one before seeking treatment – know that this experience may NOT happen to you and it really could be just us! Our luck, or maybe we just look horrible :)
