少量出血是很常见的，但在极少数情况下，可能会发生大量出血。
鼻中隔手术后可能会发生感染，因为鼻子不是无菌环境。
毒性休克综合征是一种非常罕见且威胁生命的感染。
鼻中隔穿孔是一个小孔，有时在手术期间或之后会在鼻中隔形成。
脊髓液漏出，极为罕见。
也可能有其他风险，例如疤痕，鼻子形状改变，鼻子变色，气味降低，牙齿或鼻子麻木以及持续的症状。除了遵循外科医生的后期护理说明外，保持鼻子清洁和经常洗手可以降低风险。
